Dundarave & the West Bay Waterfront
A village on the water, and the estate shoreline beyond it.
The Short Version
Dundarave is Ambleside's quieter neighbour: a compact village along Marine Drive around 25th Street, with the pier, the beach and the west end of the seawall a short walk down the hill.
West of the village, Altamont and West Bay shift to larger waterfront and view properties, and Queens climbs the slope behind. The common thread is the water and the village, without Ambleside's density.

What You're Buying
What sets Dundarave & the West Bay Waterfront apart
The assets, the trade-offs and the details worth checking before you make an offer.
The Village
Small, walkable and right on the water.
Cafés, restaurants and shops along Marine Drive, Dundarave Pier and beach, and the Centennial Seawalk running east to Ambleside.
Homes within an easy walk of the village don't come up often, and summer weekend parking is a real consideration.
The Waterfront Estates
Altamont and West Bay hold some of West Vancouver's most significant shoreline homes.
Waterfront and near-waterfront homes on larger lots, many set well back from Marine Drive.
Waterfront value is driven by frontage, beach access, foreshore and slope, so two sales a few lots apart can tell very different stories. This is a segment where a careful comparable analysis matters far more than an area average.
Queens and the Slope
Dundarave's address, a few blocks up the hill.
Detached homes on residential streets north of Marine Drive, many with water views, a short walk or drive down to the village.
Often the more attainable way into the Dundarave area compared with the village blocks or the waterfront.

"In Dundarave you pay for the walk to the pier. I like to show buyers what that walk is really worth by comparing village-side homes with similar ones a few blocks up the hill."

West Vancouver's school catchments don't follow neighbourhood names or MLS® sub-area lines, and two homes on the same street can sit in different catchments. Before you fall for a listing, check the exact address in the West Vancouver Schools School Locator. Grades 1 to 12 admission is limited to in-catchment students, so the address matters.
